TD Bank Group Supports Clients of IWSO

TD Bank Group Directs $11,500 to IWSO in support of Immigrant and Racialized Women

Ottawa, ON – December 12, 2024 – Immigrant Women Services Ottawa (IWSO), today announced that they have received funding from The TD Bank Group in support of Immigrant and Racialized Women in Ottawa and the surrounding areas. The grant will establish TD as a leading supporter of programming for immigrant and racialized women in Ottawa. Funding will be allocated directly to support the essential services provided by IWSO to the women they serve.

TD’s Community Engagement Officer, Lee Rose, said, “We are proud to support the outstanding work of Immigrant Women Services of Ottawa. Ensuring that underserved immigrant and racialized women receive the support they need to thrive is a priority for TD. IWSO’s efforts play a vital role in fostering a stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous Ottawa, and we are honoured to contribute to their important mission.

!I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to TD for their generous contribution of $11,500 in support of the critical programming IWSO provides to immigrant and racialized women in Ottawa and the surrounding areas,” said Mercy Lawluvi, Executive Director of IWSO. !The ability to sustain these programs, which are essential for the mental health and wellbeing of the women we serve, is vital, particularly as we approach 2025.”

Josephine Basudde, Manager of Crisis Intervention and Counseling at IWSO, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are deeply thankful to TD for their leadership gift. It is truly inspiring to see a community partner in Ottawa take initiative to ensure the continuation of vital programming. Our immigrant population plays a crucial role in fostering a stronger and more inclusive community.”

IWSO includes a multidisciplinary team (crisis counsellors, professional translators, settlement and integration counsellors, and volunteers) offering comfort and support to Immigrant and Racialized women in Ottawa and the surrounding areas.
