Ottawa, ON – January 8, 2026 – Immigrant Women Services Ottawa (IWSO) is pleased to announce the receipt of a $2,000 donation from The Stairwell Carollers, an a cappella Ottawa choir with a long-standing tradition of supporting local charities. The donation will support IWSO’s programs for immigrant and racialized women fleeing violence.

“We are deeply grateful to The Stairwell Carollers for their generous contribution and for their many years of commitment to supporting local charities,” says Mercy Lawluvi, Executive Director of IWSO. “This $2,000 donation will directly support our programs for women fleeing violence, helping them and their children access safety, culturally appropriate services, and the support they need to rebuild their lives.”

Since 1986, The Stairwell Carollers have donated to local charitable organizations through concert ticket sales and the sale of Stairwell Carollers products. To date, $132,069 has been donated to Canadian charities, reflecting their strong commitment to giving back. Including scholarships, they have provided a total of $150,569 over the years.
