The Leadership for Systemic Change- Let your voice count, project is progressing well and we are in the process of now recruiting Cohort #3 that will begin in early 2024.
Participants will take part in Leadership Building Activities that include leadership training workshops, networking, and mentorship from IWSO and project partners. This program will include a speaker series where participants will learn from strong women leaders throughout our community. Placement opportunities will also be available at a variety of community associations.
If your application is approved, you can look forward to also learning through workshops that include information on the following:
* Canadian Systems
* Advocacy
* Introduction to Intersectionality and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
* Not-For-Profit Governance
Opportunities for networking will be provided, there-by paving the way to solid connections in the community to carry you forward in your goals.
This project is funded through Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) and aims to address the systemic causes of immigrant and racialized women’s leadership underrepresentation and supports their inclusion in leadership positions, and leverages their lived experiences and knowledge through leadership training, mentoring networking and placement opportunities across various decision-making tables in Ottawa.
The project supports a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19 through system change.
After completion of the curriculum, women will gain leadership experiences and skills to use towards their career goals. Participants will also leverage their lived experiences to address systemic barriers and accelerate women’s equality.
