Since 1988, Immigrant Women Services Ottawa has evolved to meet the needs of some of the most vulnerable women in our community. Together with you by our side, we can ensure the doors of IWSO will always be open to serve immigrant and racialized women who are fleeing violence or making a new home for themselves and their children.

A legacy gift is a personal statement of the values you embraced during your life and will help Immigrant Women Services Ottawa plan for the future and continue to transform the lives of the women and children we serve.

 

LEAVE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL

After ensuring your loved ones are cared for, a charitable gift in your will to Immigrant Women Services Ottawa enables you to make a significant gift that you may not otherwise be able to in your lifetime – a gift that will make a difference for years to come.

If you are drafting a will or codicil, you can make a gift to  Immigrant Women Services Ottawa by using wording such as the following:

I leave this gift to Immigrant Women Services Ottawa, 219 Argyle Avenue, Suite 400, Ottawa, Ontario, K2P 2H4, Charitable Registration #131976581RR0001 or its successor, a (state share or percentage of estate, a specific amount of money, the specific securities you wish to leave.)  I direct this money be used as the Board of Directors chooses.

Immigrant Women Services Ottawa gratefully accepts gifts in the form of securities. Donations of publicly listed securities are exempt from capital gains tax, making this one of the most attractive ways you can help immigrant and racialized women and children in need.

If you donate securities to Immigrant Women Services Ottawa directly, you won’t pay any capital gains tax normally associated with the sale of securities. And you’ll receive a tax receipt for the full value of your donation.
