I considered joining IWSO due to the mandate of the organization. Through my research and my doctoral studies I became aware of the Immigrant Women’s Services of Ottawa.

Given, that my research looks at the experiences of acculturating to Canada and the time that this takes the organization’s activities interest as well as raison d’etre, speak very closely to the work I’m interested in pursuing.

I believe it is very important that as Society we support individuals as well as organizations that seek to ameliorate the experiences of individuals.

Given the research I have pursued within the last 10 years, I support, as well as comprehend the complexity as well as need for the work that IWSO is undertaking within the Greater Ottawa area.

I am happy to be part of the organization and provides assistance as needed and that fits the individual. IWSO is a notable local organization where I can see the immediate impact of the work carried out. This is very important to me as the localized approach means that the work can be pursued and facilitated locally with considerations of context of the community.
