Introducing Charmian ‘Charms’ Romano, the Culinary Entrepreneur Program Coordinator at the Immigrant Women Services Ottawa (IWSO).
As the Culinary Entrepreneur Program Coordinator, I am thrilled that IWSO is launching this course designed for women who are passionate and talented in the kitchen but need support in transforming their skills into a thriving food business. This program blends hands-on culinary training with business essentials, covering everything from food safety and recipe development to cost control, marketing, and sales strategies. Beyond the technical skills, it fosters confidence, community, and a strong network of support.
Coming from a family of cocoa farmers and bakers, my journey into food entrepreneurship has deepened my appreciation for the dedication, creativity, and resilience it takes to succeed. I am passionate about helping women harness their culinary talents and navigate the path to business ownership.
We are also inviting experienced food professionals, entrepreneurs, and passionate foodies to join us as Volunteer Mentors. If you are eager to share your expertise and guide aspiring food business owners, we welcome your application to be part of this empowering initiative.
Together, let’s create opportunities, build skills, and celebrate the incredible potential of women in food!
