We are delighted to announce that Immigrant Women Services Ottawa ( IWSO) is collaborating with the Barbra Schlifer Clinic in the initial testing phase of the RISA Questionnaire.

The Risk Identification and Safety Assessment (RISA) tool was conceived and crafted by the Barbra Schlifer Clinic as a vital component of the Clinic’s five-year National Risk Assessment Project, generously funded by WAGE. RISA draws from an extensive literature review, consultations with service providers and survivors of violence, and insights from gender-based violence (GBV) experts, including our esteemed project partners.

The Clinic is joining forces with sister organizations in various provinces to actively engage in the pilot and testing phase of the RISA Questionnaire.

The RISA Questionnaire serves as the cornerstone of the RISA Tool for Service Providers, specifically designed for frontline service providers working with GBV survivors or individuals at risk of violence. It serves to empower service providers in conducting trauma-informed risk assessments for GBV while facilitating the development of personalized safety plans and effective case management.
